10-ft x 10-ft x 11-in (6-in. core) thick loadbearing wall
assembly constructed from BuildBlock Building Systems BB600
insulated concrete forms filled with minimum 3,000 psi
concrete produced, assembled and tested as described herein,
successfully met the conditions of acceptance as outlined in
ASTM Method E119-00a Fire Tests of Building Construction and
Materials for a fire endurance rating of 3-h while carrying
a superimposed load of 5,000 pounds per lineal foot."

A view into the furnace
about 10 minutes into the test. The plastic web
connectors glow as they begin to burn.
As the
temperature reaches the maximum, the entire wall
glows red hot.
As the clock approaches the
3-hour mark, the foam on the outside of the wall is
uncompromised.
Immediately following 3 hours
of testing, the wall is removed from the furnace
and sprayed with a high
pressure fire hose for 2-1/2 minutes
continuously.
Steam explodes
as the wall surface cools, etching the concrete
finish about a 1/4 of an inch deep.

is loaded down with 12,000 lbs per lineal foot
of pressure.
